Environmental Risk Assessment of Chemicals

We deliver integrated environmental risk assessments of chemicals under European regulatory frameworks, including the REACH Regulation and the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR). Assessments are performed in accordance with relevant EU guidance and international standards, combining multiple lines of evidence to ensure scientifically robust and transparent conclusions.

Includes:

Environmental fate and exposure assessment
Ecotoxicological evaluation and interpretation of aquatic and terrestrial toxicity data
Environmental hazard assessment, based on physicochemical and ecotoxicological properties
Risk characterisation integrating hazard and exposure information, derivation of PEC/PNEC values

Specialised assessment areas:

PBT (Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic) assessment, in accordance with REACH regulatory criteria for the identification of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs)

PMT (Persistent, Mobile and Toxic) assessment, in accordance with CLP criteria and addressing substances of emerging regulatory concern and relevance for drinking water protection

Analysis and interpretation of OECD simulation and bioaccumulation tests and application of kinetic correction approaches for dificult to test substances, i.e. volatile or adsorbing substances
